Marjorie Carpreaux led Belgium to a come-from behind, 68-63 triumph over Belarus in the opening Group B clash for the two sides.
Belarus looked to be in control with a 53-43 lead early in the fourth quarter but Carpreaux led the Belgians back.
She scored nine points in a 17-6 surge as Belgium moved into a 60-59 lead with three minutes remaining.
The team from the Low Countries then killed the game off at the free throw line.
Carpreaux led her team with 15 points and also dished out 10 assists.
Tatsiana Likhtarovich had a game-high 23 points in defeat.
Serbia 83, Hungary 63
Jovana Rad led Serbia to an easy 83-63 triumph over Hungary on Friday.
Rad had a game-high 17 points while also corralling 10 rebounds for the Serbians.
