After impressing with her efforts for Russia through the various youth categories where she won the U18 European Championship Women in 2002 and the U20 European Championship Women in both 2004 and 2006 when she was also named the Best Young Player of Russia, this guard was finally handed a spot for the senior National Team last summer at the FIBA World Championship Women. She emerged from the experience with a lot of credit, having shot the ball well and also helped the team out on the glass. She also won a silver medal for her country at the 2009 World Student Games in Belgrade as well as being named a Russian Superleague All Star. With experience in EuroLeague Women and EuroCup Women where last season she was again one of the best perimeter shooters around, she can provide a scoring threat for Russia and is capable of helping out on the boards and dishing up assists too. |
