In the 2006 U20 European Championship, Çolakoğlu was the team’s biggest revelation and she even had transfer offers from Italian clubs after her masterful display. The Istanbul native has the same fundamental qualities and aggressiveness of the older guards on the team but her size provides an added dimension to her game.  Colakoglu is good in traffic and despite her young age seems to always make the right choices in pressure situations. Eventually, the 20-year-old will take a more prominent place on the team but may still be a role player at EuroBasket Women 2007.
