Zike was the leader of the Latvian team that captured bronze at the 2005 U20 European Championship.  The Riga native is a reliable mid-range shooter and is decent from three-point range as well.  A couple of years ago Zike spent a season at the French club Toulouse but came back to her homeland and became a leader of an ambitious young team Avantis/Turiba, which won the Latvian Championship in 2006. Last season she averaged 15.2 points per game for her club side.
