After making his debut at EuroBasket 2009, Ivan Paunic looks like he will continue his run in the Serbian team having also participated last summer at the FIBA World Championship. Adding to the likelihood is that he has just completed an excellent first season at BC Nizhiny Novograd which means he has now played in four different leagues during the last four seasons of his career. He was one of the stand-out players in EuroChallenge last season after posting some terrific numbers and while he is only likely to be handed another cameo off the bench by Coach Ivkovic, that won't be too much of a disappointment. Paunic is a hard worker who is still honing his offensive skills and trying to add improved consistency to his game. Defensively he is very strong due to his quickness and ability to guard the perimeter effectively. |
