Joint Lega A leaders Virtus Bologna continued their excellent season on Tuesday night with a comfortable 98-76 EuroCup Round II victory at home to winless BC Kalev.
The hosts were never behind in the clash at Palamalaguti, with Brett Blizzard's three-pointer after just 21 seconds setting the tone in a largely one-sided affair.
Kalev could only ever close to within two points thereafter as the Italians continually found a higher gear than their Estonian counterparts.
Kristoffer Lang's effort from beyond the arc gave Virtus a 27-22 advantage at the end of the first period, while a bright 23-12 run in the second effectively ended the tie as a contest before the interval.
Catalin Burlacu added 18 points in a productive third quarter for Kalev, who edged the period 27-24 thanks largely to the efforts of the 2.10m center.
But it proved to be a false dawn for the visitors as Virtus stretched their legs in the final period to establish a deserved 22-point advantage at the buzzer.
Burlacu finished with 29 points in a losing effort while Travis Reed was also unfortunate to end on the wrong end of the result after he added 20.
Christian Drejer contributed 25 points for 2-0 Virtus, who also benefited from Blizzard's 17 points, which included three of four (75%) from beyond the arc.
