An outstanding performance by a Hungary international made all the difference in the all-Hungarian EuroChallenge clash between Lami-Véd Körmend and Szolnoki Olaj on Tuesday.
Szolnoki's Marton Bader wreaked havoc in the paint in the first three quarters to effectively put the game beyond the reach of the hosts, despite their impressive output in the final frame.
The 2.10 m center was 12-for-13 from two-point range and made nine of his 10 free throws to finish with 32 points.
He also brought down 14 boards, six of them on the offensive end, as his team held on to defeat Körmend 96-92 on the road.
Bader registered an efficiency index rating of 45, the highest yet this season, and this display was more than sufficient to earn him EuroChallenge Regular Season Week 2 MVP honours.
Taylor Quincy, who played 43 minutes in Belfius Mons-Hainaut's thrilling 86-84 overtime victory at Paris-Levallois, came in second place with a rating of 32.
The 30-year-old shooting guard finished with a double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds and added seven assists and four steals for good measure.
Another Mons-Hainaut player, center Brian Qvale, is tied in third spot on the table with Telekom Baskets Bonn point guard Jared Jordan.
