|Arturs Berzins led BK Ventspils in their rout of Tampereen Pyrinto|
BK Ventspils routed Tampereen Pyrinto 79-59 to underline their superiority in Group C of the EuroChallenge.
The final score barely tells the story of Ventspils' dominance as Tampereen actually outscored them by 10 points in the final quarter once the hosts had relaxed.
They did not break the game open until the second quarter but when it came the run was devastating.
Donald Sims' jump-shot started an 18-2 spurt that made it 33-18 on a Davis Lejasmeiers lay-up.
The points just kept on coming for Ventspils, and a 9-0 tear in the third quarter made it 67-34 on Martins Laksa's jump-shot with 57 seconds left in the frame.
From there, they could afford to ease off, with the reserves joining the party.
Tampereen cut the gap slightly, but the contest was long since over.
Ventspils shot 30-of-56 (53.6%) compared to 20-of-59 (33.9%) for the visitors.
Arturs Berzins led Ventspils with 19 points while Meiers had 13. Folarin Campbell and Laksa collected 10 apiece.
Kenneth Lowe led Tampereen with 12 points while Jesse Niemi and Antero Lehto finished with 10 each.
