Sodertalje Kings kept alive their hopes of reaching the Last 16 of the EuroChallenge and denied Norrkoping Dolphins qualification on the night with a 67-62 win in Group C.

All Södertälje need to do now is beat Ventspils on the road next week to make sure they punch their ticket.

The Kings held off the Dolphins in a tense finish after allowing a 41-29 lead early in the third quarter to dissolve completely.

Three free throws from Dino Pita had given the Kings a 12-point lead a little over a minute after half-time.

But big three-pointers from Edgars Jeromanovs and Anton Saks fuelled a Dolphins comeback as they closed within three before the end of the period.

They continued to chip away in the fourth before Oladapo Ayuba's three capped a brief 7-0 spurt that put the Dolphins up 59-58.

It lasted only a few seconds before Mike Joseph responded with a lay-up but the game was tied at 60 with 66 seconds left.

There were missed free throws on both sides as the tension rose, but when John Roberson held his nerve to make a pair with 12 seconds left, the Kings were up 65-62.

Martin Ringstrom missed a three for the Dolphins, and Bizaca then iced it from the line.

Bizaca led the Kings with 15 points while Kenneth Simms had 14 and 12 rebounds. Martin Pahlmblad collected 13 points, with Pita adding 12.

Jeromanovs led the Dolphins with 20 points while Pavel Ermolinskij had 15 and Ayuba 12.
