Chinemelu Elonu chipped in with 14 points in Tofas'win in Estonia

Tofas SC Bursa romped to a 106-76 victory at Rakvere Tarvas on Tuesday in Estonia to take a commanding lead in their EuroChallenge Qualifying Round tie.

Power forward Joshua Heytvelt connected on four of seven shots from long range and finished with 28 points to lead the charge for the Turkish team, which will look to complete the victory and advance to the Regular Season when the second leg is played in Bursa next week.

The Estonians led briefly at the start of the game before falling behind, yet they didn't appear to be headed for a blowout until late in the third quarter.

Tofas outscored them 13-3 over the last six minutes of the frame to take a 76-61 advantage to the four period.

The visitors then went on a 15-5 run to start finial quarter for a 91-66 stranglehold on proceedings with five minutes still remaining.

Rakvere Tarvas caved in and ended up losing by 30 points.

Also for Tofas, Ukraine international point guard Steven Burtt poured in 20 points and Chinemelu Elonu weighed in with 14.

Samet Geyik, who played for Turkey at the U20 European Championship this summer, had eight rebounds to go with his five points 18:36 of action.

Clarence Jackson's 17 points paced Rakvere Tarvas.

COACH QUOTES

Quotes Rakvere Tarvas vs. Tofas SC

Tofas head coach Ahmet Caki
"It was important for us to win the road game. We played a totally different second half and were good in defence. That`s why we won this game. The game was good, spectators were good and the opponent's team fights very well."

Tofas player Joshua Heytvelt
"Coach covered it pretty well. We played with confidence. In the first half we changed a lot in defence. We made no mistakes in the second half and came away with a victory. It was a good game."

Tarvas head coach Andres Sober
"We could not stop Tofas' leaders at the beginning of the game but we knew that they got a very good team. In the second half of the game there was just forming. But we are happy - it was a historic game for our small club. This is the very first time for us to play EuroChallenge games."

Tarvas player Reimo Tamm
"We made too many mistakes on defence so we must work more on it. It is also the start of the season and we have not played so many games yet. But we are moving on."
