Hapoel Holon kicked off their first European campaign since 1997 in style with an 84-69 home win over Armia Tbilisi.
The driving force behind their opening night triumph was big man Franklin Hassell, whose 22 points and 15 rebounds led the way for the Israeli side.
The American center also swatted away two shots, picked up two steals and gave an assist in his 30 minutes on the court.
He shot a game-best 69.2% from the field and converted four of his five attempts from the free-throw line.
All this accumulated in an overall efficiency index of 37, three better than Andre Harris, who did it all for JDA Dijon in their overtime loss to Gaz Metan Medias.
Matthew Shaw finished third with an efficiency index of 31 in Körmend's losing effort at Timisoara.
