BK Ventspils blew a 23-point last week and lost at home to ZZ Leiden but they made amends with an 89-88 overtime victory at Roanne Basket in the EuroChallenge Last 16 on Tuesday night.
The score was tied 75-75 at the end of regulation.
Mamadi Diane had 25 points to lead the Latvians in the Group I triumph.
In a must-win game for Gundars Vetra's team, Ventspils prevailed to improve to 1-2 while Roanne slumped to 2-1.
Dylan Page's three-pointer had put the French side in front, 88-87, with five seconds remaining in the extra period.
Page then fouled Steven Gray, who missed two free-throws and it seemed Roanne would escape with a late victory.
But the Latvian team got the ball back and young center Martins Meiers was fouled.
He went to the line and sank both free-throws for the 89-88 win.
Meiers had 12 points and nine rebounds in the victory with Gray pouring in 16 points.
Ventspils were 12 of 21 from behind the arc.
For Roanne, Page poured in 14 points.
