Norrköping Dolphins pummeled Bemaco SPU Nitra on Tuesday night to claim their first win of the EuroChallenge.
In the Group A battle, the Swedish side had six players hit double-digits in points in an 82-64 victory.
On top 47-46 three minutes into the second half, the Dolphins shifted into a higher gear.
Edgars Jeromanovs hit a three-pointer and Oladapo Ayuba followed with a jump shot.
Petras Balocka and Ayuba continued the run with baskets to make it 56-46.
At the end of the frame, a Balocka lay-up and two free-throws by Andrew Mitchell gave Paul Burke's team a 65-50 lead.
Norrköping blew the game wide open in the fourth and ended up winning by 18.
Mitchell finished with 13 points while Balocka and Jeromanovs had 11 apiece.
The Swedish team, beaten by Fuenlabrada in Spain last week, out-rebounded Nitra 39-29.
The hosts also buried 16 of their 18 free-throws.
The Slovakian outfit was led by Denis Clemente, who had 16 points.
Nitra Head Coach, Lubomir Urban
"We were not up to our normal standard in the second half. My players had big problems focusing and were really bad in concentration. Dolphins very good rebounds meant a lot for them to win. They are more experienced than we are, especially playing away in Europe. We are happy with the first half - but not with the second."
Dolphins Head Coach Paul Burke:
"I think we played all right in the first half, but in the second we stepped up in our defense and forced them to shoot from bad positions. I am very happy, we wanted to play as a team, not individually. I think we showed that by having six players scoring more than ten points. This is a team that really wants to win - and this was a very important game for us. We improve from game to game."
Dolphins Player Andrew Mitchell:
"We won as a team. We played great defense, but we still have a long way to go. Denis Clemente impressed me. He gave me a hard fight - he is fast, but I think I managed to tire him and make him fight for every point. We did know that he is a good player - and that he would score whatever we did."
Nitra Player Denis Clemente:
"The Dolphins are an impressive team - I think they have a good chance to advance in the EuroChallenge. We lost tonight, but there is a new game soon when the Dolphins come to us - and then we will certainly be better prepared to take them on."
