A devastating third quarter performance by BK Prostejov helped the side from the Czech Republic breeze through their EuroChallenge Qualifying Round tie with Helios Domzale as they claimed a comfortable 84-69 success.
Star of the show was Bertengeh Gadri who had 14 points and 14 rebounds in 25 minutes of action for the home side although most crucially of all it was a one-sided and powerful 25-6 third period that really made the difference.
Having already secured a 70-62 win in Slovenia, BK Prostejov finished the job after the break and they needed to with both teams absolutely inseparable during a tight first two quarters.
The scores were tied 18-18 after the end of the first period and both teams scored the exact same number of points during the second stanza to ensure the contest was level at 36-36 by the midway point of the game.
Whatever Coach Peeter Balint said to his players in the locker room at the break really paid dividends as his team erupted in the third to end the hopes of Helios who were overwhelmed at both ends of the floor.
The visitors were stone cold after the re-start and were outscored 14-0 in the opening six minutes of the half as they wilted in spectacular fashion.
The last quarter was little more than a procession for the home team who were in a party mood after a dominant and impressive performance.
In addition to the excellent work of Gadri, Eugene Lawrence and Benas Veikalas both scored 16 points each for the winning side.
Marko Lekic was one of the few Helios players to gain respectability after this performance with a creditable 18 points and 7 rebounds.
