|Caleb Green kept his scoring up to give BC Oostende a boost as the Belgian team booked a Quarter-FInal spot|
BC Telenet Oostende clinched their seventh consecutive win in the EuroChallenge on Tuesday night to book their place in the Quarter-Finals.
The Belgian side defeated BK Prostejov 87-85 to improve to 4-0 in Group L.
Caleb Green poured in a season-high 27 points for the home side, having torched BC Zadar for 26 in his previous European outing.
Green, 25, hit four of eight shots from long range.
He also led his team with eight rebounds.
William Thomas weighed in with 19 points and six rebound for Oostende.
Prostejov, who upset Lokomotiv Kuban in their previous EuroChallenge game, stayed in the hunt until the end.
The visitors' Eugene Lawrence took his points haul to a team-high 18 with two free-throws to knot the game at 76-76 with 3:49 to go.
Oostende had the answer, though.
Quentin Serron raced in for a fast-break lay-up and then Thomas added a free-throw as the hosts took the lead for good.
Prostejov fell to 1-3 in Group L with the setback.
Coach Jean-Marc Jaumin • BC Telenet Oostende
"Prostejov is a very good team with a lot of quality. They score very easily, the danger comes from everywhere. I was not satisfied with the defense we played in the first half today. But the easy game against Leuven last weekend was still in some of the players' heads. It says enough when you look at the stats, that we only won the third quarter. But I am very happy with the qualification."
Coach Peter Balinth • BK Prostejov
"It was a ery tough game for both teams. But Oostende made some very hot shots at the end of the game. But we lost this game in the thrid quarter when we had so many problems in defense with Caleb Green. He killed us today. The 10 turnovers in the second half were also deadly!"
Caleb Green • BC Telenet Oostende
"Great game for me, but the important thing is that we won and that we are qualified! Now we have another goal and that's to finish first. Our defense in the second half was the key to win this one today!"
Martin Lawrence • BK Prostejov
"Congratulations to Oostende. Very hard and difficult team to play against. Like our coach said, the danger can come from everywhere with Oostende, even without Lojeski, everybody saw how other players stepped up today and a special mention for Caleb Green of course!"
