Top scorer of the night for Oostende with 17 points: Matthew Lojeski

BC Oostende claimed a valuable road win on the opening night of the EuroChallenge Last 16, beating BK Prostejov 74-66.

Matthew Lojeski led the attack with 17 points for Oostende, who won Group H in the Regular Season despite losing two of their first three games.

Prostejov were on top 40-35 with 6:44 to go in the third quarter when things began to unravel for the hosts.

A William Thomas lay-up followed by a Veselin Petrovic three-ball allowed Oostende to knot the Group L game at 40-40.

After a pair of Radoslaw Hyzy free-throws gave Prostejov their last advantage at 42-40, Oostende responded with a 10-2 run and went in front to stay.

Lojeski buried a jumper to tie it and then Thomas hit another for a 44-42 lead.

Oostende stretched their lead to eight and found themselves with a 66-56 lead with 5:47 to go in the game.

That's when Prostejov made their move.

Kyle Landry nailed a jumper and then Benas Veikalas, who had a game-high 18 points, buried a shot from the arc.

A Jaromír Bohacík free-throw and another jumper by Veikalas cut the Prostejov deficit to just two points.

Thomas stopped the bleeding with a jump shot and then Lojeski drilled a three before Caleb Green struck from the arc and just like that, the advantage was back to 74-64 with 1:53 to go.

Veikalas added another jumper for the final points of the contest.
