Norrköping Dolphins gave their fans in Sweden another night to savor in the EuroChallenge with a 77-75 triumph over BK Ventspils in the Last 16.
Both sides are now 1-1 in Group K.
In a thrilling finish, the Dolphins got two free-throws from Andrew Mitchell to tie the game at 75-75 with 53 seconds to go.
Mitchell then made a big play at the other end of the court, intercepting a pass by Ventspils' young point guard Janis Strelnieks and passing to Fred Drains who buried a jump shot to put the home side in front with 29 seconds left.
Dolphins fans had to sweat out a nervous finish because twice Ventspils had opportunities to pull level.
Saulius Kuzminskas missed a jumper but Strelnieks got the offensive rebound.
The 21-year-old playmaker was then off target with a lay-up and Drains collected the ball for Norrkoping as time expired.
Mitchell finished with 21 points, eight assists and six rebounds for the winners.
Drains (two of two), Mitchell (two of four) and Povilas Sakinis (two of three) were good from long range.
Sakinis played just seven minutes but had eight points.
For Ventspils, who out-rebounded the hosts 40-33, it will be a long journey back to Latvia because they were just 10 of 18 (55.5%) at the free-throw line and also had 19 turnovers.
Ventspils wasted a good night shooting the ball from behind the arc as they connected on nine of 21 (42%).
