Alarm bells are ringing in Russia for EuroChallenge title hopefuls Spartak Saint-Petersburg after the team gave up 104 points to BC Khimki on Tuesday.

Khimki, now led by Lithuanian Rimas Kurtinaitis, won the PBL game 104-95.

Spartak clearly weren't ready to play because in the first half alone, they gave up 60 points.

"I'm not happy with our game on defense," Spartak coach Zvi Sherf said.

"We're going home to learn from the mistakes.

"We should always play good basketball."

Khimki hit 63% (20 of 32) inside the arc and 56% (14 of 25) beyond it.

The Moscow Region outfit leapfrogged Spartak into fourth place, with both sides now 13-8 on the season.

Spartak's opponents at the Final Four at the end of this month, Lokomotiv Kuban, prevailed 67-63 over the Samara Red Wings.

Alando Tucker poured in 20 points for Kestutis Kemzura's team as they improved to 14-7.

The Krasnodar outfit is in second place behind Unics Kazan.

"We had a great victory," Tucker said.

"We knew that the game was going to be hard, but it was very important to win.

"First of all, because we had to strengthen our position in the standings.

"And second, Goran Jeretin's son was born, so we would like to dedicate this victory to little Luke (Jeretin).

"We fulfilled our aim."
