|Marcus Douthit led a blanced Samara attack|
Krasnye Krylia got some revenge for their opening round loss as they pounded EiffelTowers Den Bosch 77-47 in the EuroChallenge Group I.
Krasnye's only defeat in this round so far was an 85-80 loss to Den Bosch, but there was never a threat of a repeat this time around as the hosts reeled off a 20-4 run in the first quarter to take a commanding 22-7 lead.
They continued to pull further and further clear, and Ralph Biggs' jump-shot at the end of the third quarter made it 61-32 in favour of the Russians, who now improve to 3-1.
Marcus Douthit led the way with 16 points and eight rebounds while Luis Flores had 14 points and Ernest Bremer 11. Anthony Richardson got 13 points and Jerome Beasley had 12 for Den Bosch.
Eiffel Towers head coach Don Beck:
My congratulations to the opponents. As for our game, it was very important for us to shoot 2 and 3 pointers, but we failed, and during the first two quarters we almost were not able to score. I'm not saying I'm disappointed with my team, but I'm disappointed with the loss.
Eiffel Towers center Jerome Beasley:
It's like you know when we could not shoot again and again, and our hands just fell down, and we lost confidence on some point, but we went on fighting till the very end. My congratulations to Samara.
Krasnye Krylia head coach Mikhail Mikhailov:
First of all, thanks to our opponents for a stubborn game. Though we were leading the whole game, they kept fighting and pushing us. Sure, we wanted to get revenge as we lost 5 points to Eiffel in the Netherlands. Today my team played well in defense, and that brought good results.
Krasnye Krylia center Marcus Douthit:
Many thanks to our head coach who inspired us and gave us confidence. We outrebounded the opponents and took a commanding lead. It was a real team game today.
