GAME REPORT

Cvetkovic, Scavolini Sink Amsterdam

Branko Cvetkovic scored 21 points as Scavolini Pesaro cruised to an 81-66 victory over winless Amsterdam in Group C of the EuroChallenge.

Cvetkovic made four of eight from beyond the three-point line to put the sword to Amsterdam, who have lost all four games so far.

The Dutch club managed to stay in the game through the first quarter, recovering from a 17-7 deficit to make it 20-17 on Jessey Voorn's jump-shot with 59 seconds to go in the period.

But Scavolini would not be so generous again, and opened the second quarter on a 10-2 run to take firm control once again, and from there they never looked back.

Dusan Sakota also finished in double figures with 15 points while Daniele Cinciarini had 14 and Eric Williams 12.

Robert Krabbendam led Amsterdam with 13 points while Voorn had 12 and Sergio de Randamie collected 10 points and 10 rebounds.

COACH QUOTES

Quotes Amsterdam vs. Scavolini Pesaro

Ferry Steenmetz, head coach Amsterdam:
"We only played well in some parts of the game. That is not enough for a Dutch team to beat an Italian team. It is a wise lesson for the domestic league in which we want to climb.

Amsterdam player Sergio de Randamie:
Tonight it felt like we were always a step too late in defense. Their shots kept on falling which made it impossible for us to turn the game around."

Sam van Rossum, player Scavolini:
"It was a good game from our side. We played with high intensity and the fan club from Belgium gave me a boost. It was a really positive time for me in Belgium and there presence shows that it was mutual."

Coach Luca Dalmonte Scavolini:
"We knew what to expect, however we did have trouble with their penetration and their offensive rebounds. We contained them later on and grabbed the win. We are now looking towards the next games as we want to win the group. I want to give a compliment to Amsterdam who made a much better impression on me than in Italy."
