Sakota's Condition Improves

30 April 2010

Dusan Sakota's condition is improving, according to the latest medical statement released on Friday.

The 24-year-old Scavolini Pesaro star is in an intensive care unit so doctors can monitor his vital signs.

He has been in a Pesaro hospital since Sunday, when he received a blow to the stomach in a game against Banca Tercas Teramo that lacerated his duodenum.

Sakota was put into an induced coma on Tuesday following a second operation to stop internal bleeding but has been awakened.

"His stay in the Intensive Care Unit allows us to continuously monitor his duodenum lesion," said the Head of the ICU unit, Filiberto Martinelli.

"He spent a calm night and has no pain.

"His clinical conditions are stable with a slight improvement in his hepatic parameters."

Scavolini Pesaro are playing in the EuroChallenge Final Four on Friday in Germany.
