BC "Minsk-2006" put two heavy EuroChallenge defeats behind them and won at Amsterdam on Tuesday in Group C. Henry Harrison had 17 points as the team from Belarus prevailed, 78-68. Hammered 106-68 at Krasnye Krylia in their opener and 80-49 at home last week by Scavolini Pesaro, Minsk looked to be headed for a very hard season in Europe. They faced a 64-56 deficit with 8:29 remaining in the game on Tuesday when the tide turned. Minsk dug deep and reeled off 16 unanswered points for a 72-64 advantage. A Harrison dunk and a three-point play by Dzianis Korshuk started the game-winning surge. Korshuk buried a jump shot and added a three-pointer for a 68-64 Minsk advantage and they pulled away for the victory. Korshuk and Alexander Fomin each had 16 points for the winners while Robert Krabbendam finished with a game-high 22 points for Amsterdam (0-3). |
