ASK Riga put the finishing touches on their EuroCup Qualifying Round 2 triumph over Cajasol by winning the second leg in Spain 68-65 on Tuesday.
The Latvians had won the first game on home soil 83-69.
AKA Riga enjoyed a 34-21 advantage late in the first half, only for the hosts to score the last eight points of the second quarter to trail 34-29.
The Cajasol crowd got excited when Pedro Rivero del Caz drilled a three at the start of the fourth quarter to give the Sevilla outfit a 52-49 lead, thus cutting their deficit in the tie to 11.
The Spanish ran out of steam, however, going nearly five minutes without a basket and ASK went on to claim a narrow triumph on the night.
Bruno Sundov led ASK with 19 points and seven rebounds.
Rivero del Caz scored a team-high 11 for Cajasol.
Pedro Rivero, Cajasol:
"We have worked very well on the court, but when the ball doesn't want to go in the basket it is difficult. We have played with so much stress, all the teamates want to help the team quickly and that way is more difficult"
Corey Brewer, ASK Riga:
"It was a crazy game. We knew that it would be difficult and we had to play more tough than in our home competition. Cajasol has a very good team, with many talented players, but we had a strong defense""I'm sure that Cajasol will go up in the ACB, because they have shown they can play very well, like against Real Madrid. They have a great coach, with a lot of experience. Cajasol only needs that everyone do what they have to do in the court"
