Lokomotiv Rostov rolled into Switzerland and claimed a 69-61 victory over Benetton Fribourg Olympic in EuroChallenge Group C on Tuesday.
The Russians improved to 2-1 with the triumph while Benetton fell to 0-3.
If ever the Swiss had a shot at victory in the European competition, this was it.
They went in front 54-52 with 5:37 remaining after Stefan Petkovic hit a three-pointer.
With 4:39 remaining, however, Lokomotiv went on top for good when Fred House nailed a three-pointer.
That shot gave the visitors a 58-56 lead and the sensational Szymon Szewczyk followed with a three-point play to increase the advantage to five.
Szewczyk finished with 17 points and 13 rebounds while Lokomotiv's Russia international Nikita Morgunov scored a game-high 20.
Dennis Harrison had 15 points and 11 boards in defeat.
Marcus Sloan scored a team-high 16 for Benetton.
