BC Sumykhimprom defeated CBC Siroki 91-82 at home on Tuesday to clinch their place in the EuroChallenge. As the first leg finished in a 73-73 draw, Sumykhimprom prevailed 164-155 on aggregate. At half-time, the contest had all the hallmarks of a classic with the Ukrainian side leading by just two points. They were on top 43-40 shortly after the restart. That's when the hosts grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck. Brian Greene dunked and Linas Lekavicius followed with a three-ball to start a 9-0 run for Sumykhimprom. They ended up outscoring the visitors 27-16 in the quarter. Sumykhimprom took a 68-54 lead to the final period and held on for a comfortable triumph. Greene had 23 points, 10 rebounds and six assists for Sumykhimprom, who won the rebounding battle 41-29. The Ukrainian outfit shot 25 of 43 (58.1%) inside the arc and nine of 26 (34.6%) beyond it. Josip Vranković's Siroki were 19 of 35 (54.%) from two-point range and 10 of 27 (37%) from long range. Artem Butskyy contributed 18 points for the winners, while Carlos Alberto Morban Rivera poured in 21 and Ivan Siriscevic 18 for the visitors. |
