The emerging basketball force in Europe known as Tartu Rock University claimed another victory on Tuesday in the EuroCup to stay top of Group A in the Qualifying Round.

George Tsintsadze had 21 points and six assists for Tartu in a 90-80 win over PAOK - their second victory over the Greek outfit.

Tartu led by as many as 30 points in the second half before easing to their fourth straight success in Group A.

Cutting down the competition like a knife going through warm butter, Tartu stayed one game clear of CSK-VVS Samara, who won over Lappeenranta in their game.

If ever the final score was not indicative of the game, that was the case in this one.

Tartu scored the game's first seven points and led for the rest of the way.

A Brian Cusworth jumper stretched the lead to 29-13 by the end of the first quarter, a shot that took his points haul to nine.

With 6:06 to go in the first half, the game had turned into a laugher after Estonia international Tanel Tein made a three-pointer for a 43-20 lead.

It would get worse for the visitors from Greece, who trailed 63-33 early in the third quarter.

The rest of the game was about damage limitation for them.

Janar Talts had 18 points and nine rebounds, and the excellent Cusworth 16 and six.

Gert Kullamäe also scored 16 points in the victory for Tartu, while for PAOK, Ibo Kutluay scored 22 points.

"Our performance in the first  half was terrible. In the third quarter we were on the court and showed our real game. I hope that we will get soon back to the level where we should be, and perform well in the Greek League."

"I think that our team was better prepared for the match. We had very good shooting percentage on first half. At the moment, our next goal is to finish the group in first position."
