Proteas Progress

Proteas EKA AEL comfortably moved into the EuroCup Qualifying Round by beating BC Dnipro 104-69 as Milutin Aleksic led the way with 19 points, 12 rebounds and six assists.

The Cypriots appeared poised to make a run at returning to the EuroCup quarter-final play-offs, which they reached last season for the first time in club history.

Duo Power Proteas To Win At Dnipro

Cypriot powers Proteas EKA AEL took a big step towards reaching the EuroCup Qualifying Round with a 64-55 victory at BC Dnipro in the first leg of their Elimination Round 2 tie.

The Limassol outfit, who reached the EuroCup quarter-finals last season, played a solid game on the road just over a week after Charles Barton took over as head coach for Igors Miglinieks. Karim Souchu scored 16 points and Milutin Aleksic added 15 points and 15 rebounds for AEL.

Dnipro Stun Timisoara With Late Comeback

Viktor Kobzystyy's free throw with two seconds left gave BC Dnipro an 82-71 victory over Elba Timisoara and a place in the EuroCup's Elimination Round 2.

Trailing by 10 points after the first leg, the free throw capped a terrific fightback by the Ukrainian team while Elba will now have to wonder where it all went wrong.

Timisoara Surprise Dnipro

Elba Timisoara shrugged off a slow start in the Romanian league to clinch a 74-64 victory on the road over BC Dnipro in the first leg of the FIBA EuroCup Elimination Round One.

Timisoara, who are 2-3 in the domestic Division A, used a 15-0 run over six minutes in the fourth quarter to turn a 58-55 deficit into a 70-58 lead late in the game.
