Jasmin Repesa has confirmed that KK Zagreb sensation Ante Tomic will have a chance to fight for a place in the Croatia roster that is to compete at the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

Tomic has been one of the star performers for Zagreb in the EuroCup and the Adriatic League, and the young center is desperate to play for his country at an Olympic Games.

"Ante Tomic will be in the preliminary 18-player squad but whether or not he will play at the Pre-Olympic Tournament is down to him," Repesa said to Basketball World News.

"We have good players in his position, so he needs to earn his place."

Repesa had a terrific team at least year's EuroBasket and even watched his players upset world champions Spain in Seville, but the team could be even stronger this summer.

"We have to wait and see who will make themselves available for the national team," he said.

"At the EuroBasket, we didn't have four players, including (Gordan) Giricek and (Nikola) Vujcic, but we still managed to do well.

"We will see what our roster will be although if we have all players available, we will have a very strong Croatian team."

Croatia were drawn alongside Cameroon and Puerto Rico in Group D of the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
