Azovmash Mariupol booked their place in the quarter-finals of the EuroCup with a comprehensive 79-57 victory away at ASK Riga.
Last week coach Rimas Girskis had accused his players of being overconfident after missing out on the chance to end the group phase undefeated with a 68-51 defeat to Dynamo Moscow.
The turning point came five minutes in, when Slaven Rimac and Serhiy Lishchuk made their lay-ups to edge the hosts in front at 8-6, and they maintained that lead throughout, the score 20-12 at the end of the first quarter.
The Ukrainians then almost doubled their opponents tally in the second period and led 39-22 by half-time.
Kenan Bajramovic - who finished as the top-scorer with 17 - making a jump shot on the buzzer to take his tally to seven for the quarter.
The third period was even at 20-20, but Riga could not reduce the deficit
despite the best efforts of their top-scorer Steponas Babrauskas, who sank two three-pointers on his way to a game total of 14.
Things could have been different were it not for the indifferent shooting of Martynas Andriukaitis, who missed a potential 13 points in that quarter alone.
Azovmash out-scored their hosts 20-15 in the final period, Bajramovic making two jump shots within a minute of each other and Panagiotis Liadelis getting six points to make the win emphatic.
