Dynamo Continue Winning Run
// 28 November 2006

Dynamo Moscow Region made it four wins from four in the EuroCup after hammering Group B strugglers BC Barons Riga 80-61 on Tuesday.

Joshua Davis (Dynamo Moscow Region)

Dynamo enjoyed a convincing start when power forward Joshua Davis made two free throws and a three-pointer in the opening couple of minutes to put the home side 5-0 ahead.

But the Russian side struggled to build on that platform as Barons fought hard to keep their hosts within touching distance.

The visiting Latvian side, who had entered the match with a 0-3 record, even managed to take the lead at 26-25 midway through the second period on the back of Edgars Jeromanovs' jump shot.

A first win of the tournament was still a long way from their grasp though, and a 12-3 run by Dynamo in the closing stages of the first half saw Rutjanis Paulauskas' side boasting a 37-29 lead at the interval.

Dynamo then extended that advantage to 11 points by the end of the third quarter, before running away with the match late on.

Nikolai Padius paced the victors with 18 points, four rebounds and three assists, while Davis was just as influential for Dynamo, adding 17 points and nine rebounds.

For winless Barons, Jeromanovs was the outstanding performer with team-highs in points (17) and rebounds (seven).
