Nahariya Refuse To Lose, Overcome Big Deficit To Win
// 29 November 2006

JDA Dijon collapsed in the fourth quarter as Ironi Iscar Nahariya rose from the dead and scored a stunning 91-80 victory in Israel.

The result leaves both clubs with 2-2 marks in Group A with two rounds still to play.

The French side led by as many as 18 points early in the third quarter after Abdoulaye Mbaye buried back-to-back three-pointers and the rout looked to be in the making.

But Dijon weren't able to press home their advantage, and Nahariya responded with a 14-3 surge of their own to trail 61-55.

After Mbaye hit another three-ball - the shooting guard only turned 18 on November 3 - the advantage went back to 68-57 with 45 seconds to go in the third period.

That is when the wheels fell off for the visitors.

A Barak Peleg three-pointer started a 15-0 run that was capped by Vedran Vukusic with seven minutes remaining, leaving Nahariya ahead at 72-68.

The Israeli team was able to stay ahead for the remainder of the contest.

Raviv Guy Limonad had 25 points for the winners, who had four players score in double figures.

Ido Kozikaro weighed in with 16 points and six rebounds, while Juan Mendez scored 15 points and pulled down six boards as well.

Mbaye was five of six (83.3%) from the arc and led the French side with 21 points.
