GAME REPORT

Honan The Hero For Maroussi

Maroussi made it two from two with a 93-71 win over Slask in a Group F EuroCup match.

Impressive for the Greeks was Jared Honan who poured in 15 points and also hauled down five rebounds in just 20 minutes of playing time.

Kevin Fletcher, with 20 points and seven rebounds, was the star of a losing cause for the Polish team from Wroclaw.

He converted seven from eight inside the arc and six from eight from the freethrow line but Dante Swanson (11) and Ante Kapov (10) were the only other players to reach double digits for the Poles.

For Maroussi Honan received stout support from Alex Kyritsis (14), Georgios Karagkoutis (13), Blagota Sekulic (12) and Markos Kolokas (10).

Maroussi took charge from the outset and convincingly won the first two quarters 23-15 and 24-16.

They were edged 26-24 in the third but reasserted control in the final period which they took 22-14.

Slask won their opening match 77-68 against MPC Capitals while Maroussi edged Hapoel 73-72 in Tel Aviv last week.
