This match-up was a very good chance for both teams to use players who don't usually receive much playing time in the Greek league and both coaches used young players for most of the game.
The end result was determined from the team with the fewest mistakes.
Coach Alexandris (Olympia) noted after the game that the more concentrated team won this evening and his counter-part Kakiousis (Iraklis) had to agree.
Olympia took the lead at the start and was ahead for the whole duration although in some periods Iraklis succeeded in getting close and even drew level in the 3rd quarter.
Iraklis, however, played without their foreigners players which was an obvious weakness.
Nevertheless, by the end Olympia seemed to be the more careful of the two sides and won by 5 (68-63).
Theodores Liakos topped for the home side with 13 points while Panteleimon Papaioakeim double-doubled with 13 points and 13 rebounds for Iraklis.
