In Group D action of the FIBA Europe League, Dynamo traveled to Greece to take on Exalco Olympia. The Russian club entered the game in first place within in their group with a perfect 6-0 record, whereas the Greek club have managed only one win.
Throughout the first and second quarters the game remained tight, with neither team wanting to give in. After the first, hard-fought twenty minutes, the score was deadlocked at 44-44.
At the start of the third quarter Dynamo came out with a fiery defense, which in turn sparked an eight-point offensive run. Consistent play by both sides continued throughout the quarter and at the end the Russian club led 65-59.
The game continued in the fourth quarter to be closely fought. Tactical coaching by Vaggelis Alexandris of Olympia gave the home team a chance to level the game with just over a minute to play. However the visitors forced two turnovers and with them they sealed a four-point road victory.
The match was most noted for its balanced play. Both teams finished with five players in double digits. Olympia was led by Doremus Bennerman's 19 points and Franko Nakits' 18. Dynamo's David Bluthenthal shot for 19 points and Ed Cota tallied 10 points, 11 assists, and seven rebounds.
