GAME REPORT

Dynamo 111 vs. Exalco Olympia 84

Dynamo St. Petersburg took another step towards the FIBA Europe League play-offs with a convincing win over Greek side Olympia Larissa. The Russian team controlled affairs from the opening tip and never gave the visitors any hope of going back to Greece with a win.

Belarus star Vladimir Veremeenko was the catalyst for a strong opening quarter from the home side and they quickly jumped out to a 10-point lead.

When Olympia's top scorer Tyrone Grant picked up his third foul at the start of the second quarter, things began to look very bleak indeed for the Greeks. Indeed, Dynamo took advantage of the short-handed Olympia and increased their lead by up to 25 points.

When David Bluthental opened the second half with a barrage of three-pointers, it was clear that it was not to be Olympia's evening.

Grant fouled out at the start of the 4th, after just 13 minutes of playing time, and it was clear that victory would go do Dynamo.

Serb center Ognjen Askrabic led all scorers with 23 points, while also grabbing 9 rebounds. Bluthental finished with 20 points on 5/6 three-point shooting while Kelly McCarty added 19.
