Tuborg Pilsener S.C. confirmed their FIBA Europe League pedigree tonight with a 77-65 win over French side Strasbourg. Although Dynamo St. Petersburg are the only undefeated side in the competition, Tuborg have won 9 games on the trot after dropping their opening two encounters early in the season.
It took all of Tuborg's resources to beat Strasbourg in France, and it was forward's Alex Jensen's key contribution (27 points) which saw Tuborg sneak away with a 1-point overtime victory.
In Turkey, Tuborg had a far easier time dealing with their French opponents and despite a rocky start, were in total control in the second half.
Tuborg trailed by 9 points after the first period, but some accurate long range shooting from Baris Ozcan and Teo Cizmic saw them tie up the score by halftime.
Point guard Hasan Koseoglu and forward Aerick Sanders took over in the third period and Tuborg cruised to victory.
Ozcan continues his fine form for the Beermen, and after dropping 26 points last week in the FIBA Europe League, he tallied 16 against Strasbourg.
Tuborg also got key contributions from Sanders who notched up his 7th double-double in 11 games (16 points and 14 rebounds) and Koseoglu, who finished with 14 points and 6 assists).
