Dexia Mons-Hainaut 79 vs. Bnei - Hasharon 77

Dexia Mons Hainaut and Bnei Hasharon met tonight in a dogfight for the last play-off spot in Group C of the FIBA Europe League. Bnei Hasharon won the home leg by 3 points in November and the second game was equally as close.

Dexia were hindered by the absence of US player Roberto Bergersen who left the club to play in Spain.

Despite the lack of scoring punch, Dexia matched Hasharon in the opening 2 quarters and then made a run in the third period. Hasharon suddenly had no answers for the home side's offense and they built an 18-point lead going into the fourth quarter.

Dexia had the upper hand in the fourth, but nerves, and a ferocious Hasharon full-court press got the better of them. Hasharon reduced the advantage to 8 points (70-62) with five minutes to go.

The Israeli side kept coming back and coming back, but it was the clock that sealed their fate. Having got to within just 2 points, they simply ran out of time and Dexia held on for the victory

James Potter top scored for Dexia with 21 points.

Bnei Hasharon's Alvin Young, the best scorer in the FIBA Europe League, tallied a season high 35 points.
