Kalev Tallinn 65 NIS Vojvodina 96

Kalev Tallinn and NIS Vojvodina showed two totally different sides in today's FIBA Europe League match. For 23 minutes it seemed that Kalev would keep the game even, before they broke down and suffered another blowout loss.

The score was tied 46-46 with three minutes played in the second half, but that was the last pleasant moment for the home team. Nenad Canak then keyed a decisive 16-3 run that gave Vojvodina a 62-49 lead. Canak scored 13 points hitting three three-pointers during the run.

The game turned ugly in the last quarter after Vojvodina started with a 13-0 run that made it 80-56. Canak again stepped up, hitting another three-pointer. Eventually, Canak scored 22 of his 24 points in the second half and was named MVP of the game. His great play also made Vojvodina forget about missing star player Milan Gurovic who stayed in Novi Sad due to injury.

The breakdown was sad for Kalev after a spirited performance in the first half. Kalev took an early 10-2 lead and kept the score equal in the first quarter. In the second, Vojvodina captured a 37-27 lead, but Kalev tied the game with a 10-0 run that was led by Gregor Arbet. The game was still tied 41-41 at halftime.

Arbet was also the leading scorer for Kalev with 25 points. Troy Coleman added 14 for the home team. For Vojvodina, Dragan Ceranjic supported Canak with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
