Strauss Iscar Nahariya 108 ECM Nymburk 83

Israeli side Strauss Iscar Nahariya have surprised many this season with their level of play in the  FIBA Europe League. Today’s game against Czech side ECM Nymburk was no exception and Nahariya won for the 11th time this season, thus securing 2nd place in Group A behind Dynamo Moscow.

Nahariya have led all teams in the competition so far at the offensive end, averging 90 points per game. Against Nymburk they attacked early and had scored 21 points by the 6th minute of the opening quarter. Eric Campbell was the main beneficiary of this high-octane offense and all 10 of his first quarter points came on dunks.

Nahariya finished the first 10 minutes with 29 points, but Nymburk held firm and cut the score to 1-point, 29:28. However, the Czech side began to wilt at the pace set by the home team and Nahariya established a 10-point lead at halftime, 48:38. Campbell finished the first half with 21 points to his name.

Nahariya continued to strengthen their advantage in the third quarter. They led 85:65 by the beginning of the last period and Nymburk had no hope of getting back into the game.

Campbell finished with a season high 32 points on 11/15 shooting and a perfect 11/11 from the free throw line. He also pulled down 14 rebounds.

Jiri Zidek led Nymburk with 22 points, while Radak Necas had a double double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
