Dynamo Moscow finished the Qualifying Round of the FIBA Europe League with win number 11 and 1st place in Group D. Their victims, Kalev Tallinn have had rather a tougher time of it, only recording 1 win in the competition and finishing in bottom position in the group.
Moscow will now await the final standings from Group A as they will match-up with the team that finishes 4th in the eighth-final play-offs.
Despite the disparity between the 2 teams Kalev started the stronger, scoring the game’s first 6 points without reply. Nikos Ekonomou got Dynamo on the scoreboard with 2 points but they could not catch their opponents, finishing the first quarter behind, 12:15.
The 2nd quarter proved to be far more effective for the home team. Moscow took their first lead at 20:19 and followed that with 2 free throws from Branko Milisavljevic and a 3-pointer from Serguei Demeshkine. By halftime Moscow had the game seemingly under control and led 43:29.
Kallinn refused to capitulate, outscoring Moscow by 1 point in the 3rd quarter, but the game was out of reach and Dynamo held on to win by 20.
Dynamo center Kenajn Dzons made his debut against Tallinn and scored 21 points. He repeated the feat in the second game, while also adding a team high 9 rebounds. Teammate Andrey Fetisov produced his best game of the season, scoring 14 points (5/6 shooting), pulling down 6 boards, dishing 5 assists and blocking 3 shots.
Kristjan Kangur led the visitors with 21 points.
