GAME REPORT
BOXSCORE
Anwil Wloclawek 58 - Dexia Mons-Hainaut 70
// 21 October 2003

In the second game of  this year’s FIBA Europe League, 1500 spectators observed the first defeat of Anwil. The guests from Belgium, Dexia Mons-Hainaut appeared to defend more effectively and in a result won the low-scoring match (58-70).

The game was close for the first three quarters. Both teams played good defense and in a consequence had problems with scoring easy points. That was why the result after the first half was only 28-33. Many shots from the 3-point-line didn’t reach the target (Anwil: 4/26 in the game, 15 %; Dexia 6/20, 30 %).

In the last quarter the guests finally figured out how to score easily. Now Dexia ran one fast break after the other and finally got away from their Polish opponents.

Anwil’s head coach, Andriej Urlep congratulated his opponents and singled out only one of his player, Armands Skele, who scored 17 points and had 12 rebounds.

Dexia’s strongest players were James Potter (16 points) and George Evans (13).
