After four victories from four away games, Oostende finally clinched its first home win by beating Türk Telekom Ankara 102-87.
Both teams started the game nervously, missing shots and turning the ball over, but Ankara was able to end the first quarter with a small lead of 22-19.
Between the 11th and the 17th minute Christophe Beghin and Quinton Ross turned up the rhythm of the game and led Telindus on a 25-5 run (44-27). With quick and efficient basketball Oostende took easily control of the game and had a comfortable lead at half time (49-33).
Ankara, however, did not let go and Monty Mack got a lot of support from former Oostende player, Virgil Stanescu who hit 16 points, scoring 52%, and grabbed 5 rebounds. Nevertheless, an outstanding Joey Beard (24 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists) sent his team from 50-42 to 71-52, but again the visitors reacted and cut their deficit to 75-66.
Oostende, being dominant in rebounding but very pour from behind the arch (1 out of 10 3-pointers) wasn't willing to let this first FEL home victory go. After Ross brought the century on the board, Oostende put the cherry on the pie with a magnificent alley-hoop by Beard.
