Nelson Signs With Gran Canaria

28 July 2010

Gran Canaria have snapped up experienced forward Spencer Nelson ahead of their EuroCup campaign.

The 30-year-old joins from Peristeri Athens, and has previously played for Aris Thessanloniki, Benetton Treviso, Upim Bologna, and Bamberg. During the 2008/09 season, he played EuroCup basketball with Aris, averaged 10.6 points per game and 6.4 rebounds.

Aris have themselves been busy in the transfer market, signing American forward Dunston Bryant, who will be playing European basketball for the first time after joining from Korean team Mobis Phoebus, having won the Korean title and claimed player of the year honours there last season.

Meanwhile, former Greece center Lazaros Papadopoulos has left PAOK after failing to agree terms on a new contract.
