Game 2 MVP Thomas Does It Again

15 March 2013
EUROCHALLENGE

William Thomas of Pinar Karsiyaka was converted to the undisputed king of the EuroChallenge quarter-final play-offs on Thursday night, by earning MVP honours for the second game in a row.

The 26-year-old power forward registered an efficiency index rating of 29 in his team's second clash against Paris Levallois, the exact same as in Game 1 of the series, only this time around his efforts were rewarded with a victory.

Thomas went 10-for-12 from the floor to collect 22 points and added eight rebounds, two assists and one block and propel his team to a vital 72-66 win on the road that takes the series into a third game back in Turkey.

In another similarity with Tuesday's Game 1, Dwight Buycks of BCM Gravelines was once again second in efficiency behind Thomas, this time with a rating of 28 rather than 27.

The American point guard had 30 points, six rebounds and five assists on Thursday to help the French side survive a double overtime thriller at Joensuun Kataja and punch their ticket to the EuroChallenge Final Four with a hard-earned 102-98 victory.

Thomas's partner in the Karsiyaka frontcourt, Abdul Aminu, and Johnell Smith of Joensuun Kataja were tied in third place in the Game 2 rankings, with an efficiency rating of 27 each.
