Team 2010-11: Lukoil Academic Sofia (Bulgaria-NBL) Career: Cherno More Varna (Bulgaria-A, 2006-07), Pamesa II Valencia (Spain-EBA, 2007-08), Pamesa Valencia (Spain-ACB, 2008-09), Valencia BC Sunny Delight (Spain-EBA, 2009), Olympia Larissa (Greece-A2, 2010), Lukoil Academic Sofia (Bulgaria-NBL, 2010-11)
21-year-old Bozhidar Avramov remains one of the most promising players in Bulgarian basketball. Having only tasted a handful of minutes both as a teenager during EuroBasket 2009 in Poland and also last year during the Qualifying Round, the guard will be hoping he can now increase his court-time. He has experience playing outside of Bulgaria in addition to an impressive youth career. Avaramov has great size and combined with his athleticism, he is a good defensive presence, while at the offensive end he utilises his quickness and dribbling skills to find open team-mates. Rarely reliant on a mid-range game, he loves to either slice to the hoop or make perimeter shots and that reflects his ability to play the two-spot as a combo guard. Some thought it may have been a mistake to return to his homeland last season but it was a great success as he showed more consistency and gained even more confidence as he outshone the import players when winning the Bulgarian Cup. |
