Arguably the most talented of Germany's young backcourt players, Lucca Staiger will look to continue the progress he made in at the FIBA World Championship. He surprised many people by quitting NCAA team Iowa State in early 2010 to return home and sign for Alba Berlin. An excellent shooter, he had been forced into something of a one-dimensional role during his time stateside, but subsequently showed his potential with 7.3 points in 15 minutes per game for Germany last summer. He has often played a back-up role for Alba this season, but as a pure shooter, he brings almost guaranteed points off the bench. He has also showed glimpses at the last two major tournaments he isn't overawed by playing at National Team level while as an added bonus, he knows what it means to play tenacious defence at the other end of the floor.
