Arguably one of the most improved players in Europe since EuroBasket 2009, Joel Freeland continues to get better and better with Unicaja in the ACB and in Euroleague. In the last few seasons, the forward has shown just why the Portland Trailblazers shocked the basketball world by drafting him as a raw and pretty much unheard of teenager. Since that time his growth cycle has exploded due to his ability to soak up coaches advice like a sponge and that has made him a premier performer in the paint for both club and country. He is quick for his size, strong under the hoop and has become a much more refined player from a technical perspective with improvements in his all-round game and particularly shooting and passing from the post. A good rebounder, especially on the offensive glass, Freeland will be a major player for Great Britain having missed the Qualifying Round campaign last year.
