The Czech Republic face being without injured forward Lubos Barton for their entire European Championship qualifying campaign.

Coach Michal Jedzik failed to agree terms for Barton's release with Italian club Lottomatica Roma, which may hamper the Czechs' chances.

"I do not think that Barton will play," Jedzik said.

"We did not come to an agreement with his Italian club for the qualifiers."

The Czechs play all six of their qualifying matches in September, with the first match taking place against Poland on September 8.

France and Slovenia are the other teams in the Czechs' group.
