After just one year in Division A the U18 national team of Sweden dropped back to Division B following a 79-73 loss to Ukraine in the Classification Round of the OMNITEL U18 European Championship at Lietuvos Rytas Arena in Vilnius, Lithuania on Sunday afternoon.

The teams arrived to the court knowing the winner will survive and drop the opponent, and Ukraine used a fourth quarter run to decide the game in their favor.

The debut journey of Sweden in the top stage is over with a 2-4 record in the Classification Round and the 3rd place.

Bulgaria dropped to Division B already yesterday and added another defeat to the bag today with a 72-67 loss to Germany.

Olexiy Len had another monster performance with 24 points, 20 rebounds, four blocks and four steals while Sweden saw Jonathan Person reach 24 points and 17 from Marcus Eriksson.

Sweden were just five points behind inside the last seven minutes but three players scored in a 7-0 run by Ukraine to write a 68-56 gap with 5:13 to play.

Person stepped up to cut it back to five, before Eriksson had a chance to make it even closer but missed from the corner three, and saw Len dunk on the other side and keep his team in Division A for one more year.
