Croatia's starting five scored all but two of their team's points in a 91-81 victory over Turkey to capture top honours in Group D of the U18 European Championship Men.
Mario Delas led the way with 25 points while Tomislav Zubcic had 20 points, 12 rebounds and five assists, Sven Smajlagic scored 20 and Toni Prostran and Ivan Batur each chipped in 12 points.
Leon Radosevic scored the only other basket for Vladimir Vanjak's team.
Turkey dropped to 2-1 to take second place in the group despite 31 points on 13-of-14 shooting and 11 rebounds by Enes Kanter. Melih Mahmutoglu added 21 points and Mükremin Kilicli scored 13 points off the bench.
Prostran and Batur both hit three-pointers to give Croatia a 9-4 lead. Turkey closed to within 13-9 before Vanjak's men used a 9-2 surge for a 22-11 advantage, which the Turks trimmed to 25-19 after one period. Taner Günay's team pulled to within four points but it was back to 41-34 at the break.
After scoring just five points in the first half, Zubcic began exerting his presence in the third period and a Prostran three-ball gave Croatia a 61-49 lead.
Kanter and Mahmutoglu refused to let Turkey go down without a fight in bringing their team to within 61-56 after three quarters. Mahmutoglu's basket cut the deficit to 61-60. But Zubcic scored and Batur knocked down a three-ball to regain a six-point advantage.
Every time Kanter or Mahmutoglu would score, an answer would be waiting from Smajlagic, Prostran or Zubcic - all three hitting triples in maintaining a 77-70 lead. And Turkey had to admit defeat after Smajlagic and Batur connected again from long distance for an 85-72 advantage.
